Outpatient Treatment for Children & Adolescents

Finding the right therapeutic support for your child or teen is a big decision. Our outpatient services offer flexible, ongoing, and evidence-based therapy designed to help your child build skills and resilience.
What Is Outpatient Treatment for Children & Adolescents?
Unlike our more concentrated, seasonal intensive programs, outpatient care is designed to be a consistent part of your family's routine, with sessions typically happening weekly. We provide steady support from an experienced, evidence-based team, helping your child or teen work through challenges and build skills over time. This approach allows for progress at a steady pace, with opportunity to practice new skills in daily life between sessions.

Who We Help
Our outpatient services are designed for youth from ages 6 to 18 who are facing a range of challenges. We tailor our approach to fit the developmental needs of each child or adolescent, providing support for concerns such as:
Difficulty managing emotions or frequent mood swings
Anxiety, depression, or symptoms of OCD
The effects of trauma
Behavioral issues at home or school
Conflict in relationships with family or peers
Co-occurring issues, such as substance use in adolescents
Our Outpatient Modalities for Youth
We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Our team is trained in a variety of evidence-based therapies, allowing us to match the treatment to your child's specific needs.
DBT-C (Children 8–12): Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Children, or DBT-C for children 8–12, is adapted specifically for pre-adolescents. It teaches core skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance in a way that's engaging and easy for kids to understand. A huge component is caregiver involvement, ensuring you have the tools to support your child's progress at home.
DBT-A (Adolescents 12–18): For teens, DBT-A for adolescents provides a framework for managing intense emotions and navigating the social pressures of being a teenager. The treatment includes individual therapy, skills training, and family engagement, all delivered by our adherent DBT team.
CBT for Children & Teens: CBT for children & teens is a structured, goal-focused therapy that is highly effective for anxiety, depression, OCD, and PTSD. It helps young people understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and provides practical skills to create change.
RO-DBT for Adolescents: Some teens struggle with overcontrol, perfectionism, and social isolation. RO-DBT for youth is designed specifically for these challenges, helping adolescents build flexibility, openness, and stronger social connections.
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) for Adolescents: The teenage years can be filled with self-criticism and shame. CFT for adolescents helps reduce these painful feelings by building a sense of inner compassion and self-worth.
Trauma Treatment for Youth: Our approach to trauma treatment for youth uses evidence-based methods to help children and teens process difficult experiences in a safe and supportive environment, paced appropriately for their age and needs.
DBT-SUD for Adolescents: For teens dealing with both emotional struggles and substance use, an integrated approach is essential. Our DBT-SUD adolescent program addresses these co-occurring issues together.
What to Expect: Structure, Frequency & Parent Involvement
In our outpatient programs, you can typically expect weekly individual therapy sessions for your child. When appropriate, we may also recommend skills groups. A cornerstone of our work with youth is parent and caregiver involvement. This can include multi-family skills groups or dedicated parent coaching sessions. We believe in working collaboratively with you to set goals and ensure the skills learned in therapy are making a positive impact at home and school.
If your child is at immediate risk, please call 988 or your local emergency services.
